What's New On Ithaca Greece
May 2025
Thursday 1st - The season begins. First yachts appear and it seems the rains are over too. Blue skies again, and although the past week has been quite chilly after the Easter heat, the temps are going up again over the next few days.
Below - Kioni, set up and ready for the Season.
Monday 5th - The season is well and truly starting. Restaurants and Cafe bars are open for business and those visitors who wish to avoid the heat of Summer are beginning to come to Ithaca ready to pain, walk, explore and just enjoy a relaxed time before it's too busy to get to know the locals.
Wednesday 7th - A bit of a cloudy day today, but the temperature is still quite mild. Enjoy this while we can. Soon it will get hot hot hot! There's alot of clearing of land taking place, strimming, pruning etc., soon all the wild flowers will have disappeared.
Friday 9th - Lots of things going on around the island as more and more visitors, expats and Ithacans living elsewhere come to the island. Fine weather continues.
Below - View to Exoghi from Pinerakia with Lefkada (Lefkas) in the north.
Above - Frikes in the north of Ithaca Greece.
Sunday 11th - Yesterday at Mavrona was the annual Ag. Nikolas Festival. Click Here or on photograph below for some pics.
Saturday 17th - Very strange skies the past couple of days. Not much I can say about that. It hasn't stopped the yachts from sailing in or the visitors coming off the ferries. It should clear up again by tomorrow...hopefully.

Springtime on Ithaca
Thursday 1st
Monday 5th - After last week's almost wintery chill, this weekend the temps have well and truly gone up to welcome us into Summer. Soon the wild flowers will dry and die and be replaced by thistle and thorns and the lush green will burn under the sun, but for now the scenery is idyllic. Colourful flowers and blue skies under warming sun.

Friday 9th
Sunday 11th - It's really feeling like Summer already. I think as soon as the yachts arrive and visitors come off the ferries, the Season begins. Still, there are places where you can find peace and tranquility.
Saturday 17th - Can't believe we're already past the half way mark through May.
