What's New On Ithaca Greece
June 2018
Sunday 10th - Most days of the week, it's still quite layed back on the island. Mid week is busy with flotillas and yachts, but there seems to be less sea traffic on the weekends.
Monday 11th - This super yacht was anchored in Frikes bay yesterday. Talitha yacht belongs to the Getty family.
Thursday 14th - Summer is the time when you reconnect with old friends, with food and wine and sea and sun.
The weather forecast says storms for the weekend. This would have been unheard of 10 years ago, but the weather is changing or being changed and so this is what we get. Get the umbrellas out just incase they're right.
Friday 15th - Below - The Polis Beach manager, Taki, caught away from the beach, managing to take some time for himself.
Above - Sofia and Nikos Levendis
Above - Vasili from Ageri.
Above - The Laertes Farm boys! Andriano and Dimitri.
Below - Panos and Poppy from The Kentro Cafe in Stavros.
Saturday 16th - Below, a photo of Exoghi in the 1900's, where you can see there was barely a tree to be seen, even the mountains in the north toward Anoghi, they were bare in comparison of how forested they are today.
Above - The flat topped pine tree in Exoghi has also been lopped off. Is there a lopping spree on the island? Leaving the eucaplyptus trees and getting rid of the pines seems a bit strange to me. I can't really see a logical reason. Gum trees spontaneously split and break, but pines are sturdy and solid.
Below - Looking down onto Platrithia from Exoghi.
Above - Frikes from afar with the Nostos Hotel sitting prominently in the green lush valley.
Sunday 17th - Storms have been brewing on our side of the world these past few days, we even had some hail during the very early hours of Friday, but yesterday the skies began to turn blue again, or at least that's what we thought, before we had another down pour.

Ithaca Greece Summer Holiday
Sunday 10th
Monday 11th - Yefuri now has a Yefuri original head dress as modelled here by Ithacan artist Catherine Andrews Rombotis.
We love this time of the year because we all still have a little time to have some fun with eachother before the Season makes us all too busy.
Thursday 14th - Starting today, there will be water restrictions, so keep your eyes on the bulletin boards for days and times around the island.
Friday 15th - I know the forecast says storms, but it just doesn't feel like that can be true.
The northern kindergarten had it's break up play at Limnes yesterday evening. It's summer.
Saturday 16th - Exoghi is a sleepy little mountain village at this time of year, but the views and sights are always stunning.
Above - Oops road block in Exoghi. Sand from a building site blocks the path between the upper and lower road.
